And sorcerers are like "no wait, hold on. This is basically a curse. I've been *experiencing* magic against my will since I was born and it's hurt a lot of people."

... and then everyone glares at the warlock in the corner. Their response: "Yeah, no. That's fair. I blew Cthulhu in the parking lot behind the McDonald's and now I can do magic. Best deal ever. You all can (and should) suck it."

Between the barbenheimer shit and the grimace shake tiktok trend (e.g., social media users creating organic viral marketing for these products), I don’t think most people hate corporations nearly enough

killyfromblame

This kind of thing where people promote products for free is a corporate wet dream btw. Word-of-mouth (and the memes have the same impact as traditional word-of-mouth) is more convincing to consumers than actual ads, and the corporation doesn’t have to pay for it. Everyone making Barbie memes and shit is doing Warner Bros’s job for them!!!

monzterzack

i mean, yeah, but there is a gigantic difference between corporate advertising and people just getting together and gushing about things they like or find funny

the barbenheimer thing is just cause it is extremely funny that two films with such a different tone came out at the same time

the grimmace shake thing became a sort of viral spooky thing on tiktok because the idea that this milkshake could kill you was funny

none of this things are forcing you or manipulating you into consuming things, its just regular people having a fun time

word of mouth cant be weaponized by corps, they suck exponentially at “relating” to the every man (see the morbius rerelease)

at some point you have to just accept that people will talk about things they like or that are fun and sometimes those things will be made by corporations

what do you want? for people to just be quiet and never do anything fun out of fear of it accidentally becoming free advertisement??? you know how derrange that sounds???

the gimmick blogs are like tumblr’s rogue gallery. yes we’ve got some heroes, yes we’ve got some villains, but more importantly if you look over here you will see some freak who devotes all their time to counting the number of “t’s” in a post

t-counter

T Count: 15

Letter Count: 198

Your T Percentage: 7.58%

Average T Percentage: 6.95%

You used the letter T 1.09 times as much as average!
